摘要： A composition for the prevention and treatment of obesity and hypercholesterolemia comprising extracts of natural products is provided to reduce the number and size of adipocytes in the tissue, and inhibit expression of genes associated with lipid synthesis including SREBP-1(sterol response element-binding protein-1), FAS(fatty acid synthase) and SCD-1(stearoyl-CoA desaturase) mRNA(messenger RNA). The composition for the prevention and treatment of obesity and hypercholesterolemia comprises the extracts of Semisulcospira libertine, sulfur fed duck, Ulmus macrocarpa Hance, pine pollen powder, Acer tegmentosum Maxim., bamboo salt, Artemisia capillaries, Platycodon Grandiflorum and black bean in a weight ratio of 20-1 : 1-10 : 5-1 : 5-1 : 5-1 : 5-1 : 5-1 : 5-1 : 2-1, wherein the composition is a pharmaceutical or health food composition; and the daily dosage of the natural product extracts is 0.0001-100 mg/kg.

CONSTITUTION: The healthy supplementary food is manufactured by the steps of: trimming and salting duck meats; aging the meats for 3 days in a bamboo container covered with bamboo leaves; putting 45 L of a marsh snail, 4kg of catalpa tree and 200 L of purified water into a first loess pot; putting 4kg of a balloon flower, 4kg of Angelicae gigantis Radix, and 20 L of purified water into a second loess pot; putting the pretreated duck meats and 20L of purified water in a third loess pot; putting 4kg of Artemisia Capillaris Thunb and 10 L of purified water in a forth loess pot; heating all pots at 1000 deg.C for 6-12 hours; putting 3kg of Ulmi cortex and 10 L of purified water in a fifth pot then heating it at 1000 deg.C for 24-36 hours; separating the ingredients from each pot then followed by drying and powdering them; mixing each decoction together and cooling the mixture; adding 2-3 part by weight of pine pollen to the mixed solution; mixing 15 part by weight of marsh snail powder, 8 part by weight of catalpa tree powder, 8 part by weight of pine pollen powder, 25 part by weight of Angelicae gigantis Radix powder, 25 part by weight of Rhynchosia Nulubilis powder, 2.5 part by weight of bamboo salt and 8 part by weight of Ulmi cortex powder; and mixing the mixed solution and the mixed powder in a mixing ratio of 4:6.
