摘要： The low pressure injection system comprises a solenoidoperated fuel injector, an electric low pressure fuel pump, and a pressure regulator which maintains fuel pressure at a fixed level. The fuel injector is mounted on the cylinder wall far apart from the cylinder head so as to inject the atomised fuel to be mixed up with air inside the cylinder. The fuel injector comprises a coil, an armature, a valve needle and a valve body. The valve needle has a round stem furnished with several spiral grooves on its outer circumference. The cross-sectional area of the outlet orifice in front of the valve body is disigned to be larger than the total cross-sectional area of the spiral groove so that the spiral grooves not only promote the fuel swirl motion but also control the fuel flow rate.
