    • PURPOSE: An energy storage system is provided to increase energy storage capacity without increase of volume and weight by using a magnetic capacitor. CONSTITUTION: An energy storage system includes a battery charger(110) and a plurality of energy storage devices(120,130,140,160). The battery charger is connected to a DC/AC current source(105). The energy storage devices are coupled between the battery charger and a plurality of sub systems(171~174). Each energy storage device includes a magnetic capacitor and an overcurrent protecting device. The magnetic capacitor is charged by the battery charger. The magnetic capacitor supplies a power to the sub system connected to the energy storage device. The overcurrent protecting device detects a current from the magnetic capacitor to the sub system. The overcurrent protecting device protects the sub system from overcurrent.
