Preferably, styrene-butadiene-styrene copolymer is polar pellet type, having the average molecular weight at 70,000-110,000.

    • PURPOSE: A white ink composition for a marker pen is provided to improve its erasability on a conventional board without remaining the residues thereon, to reduce the smell owing to use of a solvent having high boiling point such as ethylene glycol. The composition contains no endocrine disruptors, thereby giving no harmful effects on human body. CONSTITUTION: The white ink composition for a marker pen comprises: a dye, polyvinylbutyral resin, ethylene glycol monomethyl ether as a solvent having high boiling point; ethyl alcohol as a solvent having low boiling point; a plasticizer; a mixture of a surfactant and fatty acid ester as a releasing agent; and a wetting and dispersing agent, wherein (i) the dye comprises 20.0-30.0wt% of rutile-type titanium dioxide as a white dye and 2.0-3.0wt% of aluminosilicate as an inorganic dye; (ii) the resin is 3.0-5.0wt% of a polyvinylbutyral resin; (iii) the solvent comprises 10.0-15.0wt% of ethylene glycol monomethyl ether as a solvent having high boiling point and 30.0-45.0wt% of ethyl alcohol as a solvent having low boiling point; (iv) the plasticizer is 8.0-12.0wt% of phosphate type triarylphosphate; (v) the releasing agent is 10.0-15.0wt% of a mixture of 20.0-40.0wt% of sorbitan monolaurate having a HLB value of 10.5 or less and 60.0-80.0wt% of cetyl-2-ethyl hexanoate; and (vi) the wetting and dispersing agent is 2.0-4.0wt% of PEG 200 monolaurate having a HLB value of 10 or less, where the molecular weight of polyethylene glycol is 400 or less.
