A coherent light generating unit(12) generates coherent light of which the intensity is greater than the absolute value of the minimum amplitude of the reproduction image, and of which the phase is the same as the reference phase within the reproduction image. An image sensor receives an image in a pixel unit to obtain an image signal. An optical system leads the reference light to the hologram recording medium, and leads the reproduction image obtained from the hologram recording medium and the coherent light to the image sensor.
