    • PURPOSE: A molded optical panel and mold therefore are provided to simplify the production of the mold, and significantly shorten the working time to a few hours, and are adapted properly to the short-run production and delivery of a small amount of various kinds of the optical panels. CONSTITUTION: In the device, a face illuminator(1) used for a back light of liquid crystal display. The face illuminator(1) comprises a molded edge light panel(2) having one surface that is formed integrally an optical pattern(3), a reflector(6) placed on a back surface of the molded edge light panel(2), and a light diffusing element placed on the light emitting surface of the molded edge light panel(2). The face illuminator(1) is provided with a light source(8) of a linear light source, such as, for example, a cold cathode fluorescent tube, located adjacently to a light incident edge face(5) of the mold edge light panel(2). The face illuminator(1) guides incident light supplied from the light source(8) to the light incident edge face(5) so as to illuminate secondarily the whole surface area of the edge light panel by means of the light guiding pattern(3).

    • PURPOSE: A method for processing photograph or picture on a slate is provided which improves productivity due to rapid and accurate processing operation, makes a three-dimensional expression and keeps the state of expression stable for a long period of preservation. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of: (i) taking photograph of an object to be expressed and forming its light and shade or contour through half tone film; (ii) coating the surface of obsidian slate, which is smoothly grinded, with cream-typed materials which become hardened while radiating the ultraviolet rays thereon, to form a processing cutoff layer; (iii) putting the half-tone film on the surface of the processing cutoff layer and irradiating the ultraviolet rays thereon by using an ultraviolet generator; (iv) washing the processing cutoff layer to keep the hardened part being attached to the slate and eliminate the non-hardened part to prepare exposed surface; (v) sand-blasting the hardened part and the exposed surface to protect the hardened part and trim the exposed surface; and (vi) removing the remaining hardened part from the slate to obtain a finished product, where the object of the half tone film is expressed through the processed part and non-processed part formed on the slate.
