    • PURPOSE: A wiper of a flow quantity sensitive type is provided to prevent the wrong operation of a wiper, which is operated by detecting rainwater by using infrared ray LED, caused by sunlight or the headlight of other vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A second inputting unit for detecting the amount of rainwater is composed of an infrared ray LED transferring unit(41) and an infrared ray LED receiving unit(42). The rainwater collected at the lower end of a front glass passes through the space between the infrared ray LED transferring unit and the infrared ray LED receiving unit. Herein, the lowering degree of the output voltage in the infrared ray LED receiving unit is changed according to the amount of rainwater. If the amount of rainwater is large, the voltage is lowered for a large amount. Therefore, the second inputting unit calculates an output signal in proportion to the amount of rainwater.
