    • PURPOSE: A display device is provided to reduce the black brightness thereof by reducing Bragg reflection at the upper and lower sides of liquid crystal cells. CONSTITUTION: UV(Ultra Violet) ray removal films(930,980) are arranged at the both sides of the upper/lower substrates(940,970) of a liquid crystal cell(960) of a blue phase LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device, and removes the light reflection(920) of a backlight and an external light(990). Therefore, the black brightness is reduced by the removal of the reflection, and the contrast ratio of the LCD device is improved. In addition, the display of a bluish color is prevented, and the UV ray removal film is formed at a polarizing plate.

    • PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to form the cell gap of liquid crystal layer as a mono cell gap by making the size of the electric field in the transmitting area double comparing to the size of the electric field in the reflecting area. CONSTITUTION: The pixel area has a transmitting area(TA) and reflecting area(RA). The multiple pixel areas are defined in the base substrate. An insulating layer is formed in the top of the base substrate. Correspond to the transmitting area, the insulating layer has the embossing pattern. A first pixel electrode(PE1) includes a first transparent electrode and a first reflective electrode. The first transparent electrode and the second transparent electrode are formed on the insulating layer. Corresponding to the reflecting area, the first reflective electrode and the second reflective electrode(RE2) are formed in upper part of the base substrate.
