    • PURPOSE: A design method of a three dimensional steel frame structure using non-linear analysis is provided to collect a lot of information about an actual behavior of the three dimensional steel frame structure, to secure a uniform safety rate, and to enable a batch processing using a computer from the analysis of structure to a strength check. CONSTITUTION: The direct design method of a three dimensional steel frame structure is performed on the basis of a bending moment effect and a residual stress effect of members, a gradual yield effect due to bending, and other geometric imperfection generated during the manufacture or construction of the members. For the calculation of the geometric imperfection, explicit imperfection modeling method, an equivalent virtual load modeling method or a decreasing tangent elastic modulus method are applied.
