    • A field emission lamp is provided to easily design a compact lamp by disposing cathode electrodes and gate electrode on the same layer and to reduce power consumption by alternatively disposing the electrodes. An upper substrate and a lower substrate are bonded to each other to form an electric field in an internal space. Anode electrodes are formed on the upper substrate, and a phosphor layer is formed on an upper surface of the anode electrodes. Cathode electrodes(62) and gate electrodes(64) are alternatively formed on the lower substrate. An emitter is formed on the cathode electrodes and the gate electrodes to emit electron in the internal space by using the electric field formed between the anode and cathode electrodes. The cathode electrodes and the gate electrodes have main lines(70,72) and plural branch lines(74,76) branched from the main line.

    • A flat type fluorescent lamp and an exhausting method thereof are provided to minimize thickness of the fluorescent lamp by make a remaining exhaust tube protruded so to be parallel to a panel. A flat type fluorescent lamp includes a panel(30), an exhaust unit, an exhaust tube, and a diameter-extending part. Upper and lower substrates are bonded with each other to form a discharge channel(34) therein. The exhaust unit is formed on outer periphery of the panel to be parallel to the panel and coupled with the discharge channel. The exhaust tube is coupled with the exhaust unit and drains out the discharge gas from the discharge channel. The discharge gas is injected into the discharge tube. A frit ring is mounted on an end portion of the exhaust tube to seal the exhaust tube and the exhaust unit. The diameter-extending part is attached to inside diameter of the exhaust unit at an end portion of the exhaust tube. After tip-off of the exhaust tube, a remaining exhaust tube(46) is protruded to be parallel to the panel.

    • An electrodeless fluorescent lamp is provided to decrease the amount of EMI radiated from the fluorescent lamp by forming an EMI(ElectroMagnetic Interference) shielding film on the fluorescent lamp. An electrodeless fluorescent lamp includes a bulb(10), a base(20), and an antenna(31). An outer ball has a discharge space therein. An inner tube is formed inside the outer ball to form the discharge space. The outer ball is bonded with the inner tube to form the bulb. The base is coupled with a lower portion of the bulb. The antenna is inserted from the base into the inner tube and generates a magnetic field in the discharge space. A metal film for shielding a downward EMI from the antenna is formed on an inner wall of the base. A copper paste is coated on the metal film.

An amalgam container(100), which is coupled with the discharge space and contains amalgam(110) therein, is formed at the lower end of the bulb. The amalgam container contains the amalgam and is protruded into the discharge space.

    • A fluorescent lamp is provided to extend a lifetime of the lamp by improving a light emitting uniformity of the lamp by arranging electrodes at a center of a discharge space. A fluorescent material is applied on an inner wall of a tube(50). An electrode(54) for emitting electrons is formed at an end of a lead line(52), which is introduced into the tube. A stem(58) for supporting the lead line is formed in the middle of the lead line. A short-circuiting between lead lines is prevented by the stem. A support member(60) is implemented between the stem and the inner wall of the tube and supports the stem, such that the electrode is arranged at a center of a cross-section of the tube. The support member is attached to both sides of the stem and elongated in both side directions, such that one end of the support member is supported on the inner wall of the tube.
