The heat transfer having an automatic pre-heating function is constituted with: a body; a cylindrical body rotating by being comprised in the body; a track type belt linked to the rotation of the cylindrical body as surrounding a lower part, a side part and an upper part of the outer circumference of the cylindrical body; an inlet roller connected to the inside of the belt and comprised in the lower part of the cylindrical body; and an exhaust roller connected to the inside of the belt and comprised in the upper part of the cylindrical body. A transfer sheet (P) coated with ink and fabric material (C) are flew into the belt side of the inlet roller and the fabric material is printed by heat of a heater comprised in the cylindrical body. A guide roller is comprised in the upper part of the inlet roller. A lever is formed with a rotatable bar type with one end which is axis-combined to the body, and is connected to the guide roller to make the guide roller be rotated toward the inlet roller. An inlet part comprises a cylinder rotating the lever by being comprised in the upper part of the lever, and makes the transfer sheet and the fabric material be closely adhered to the inlet roller. A foothold type switch is connected to a fluid supply unit and operates the cylinder by pressurization. A spring is further comprised between the body and the lever so that the lever returns to the original position.

A thermal head performs printing by sequentially transferring a plurality of color inks coated on an ink ribbon onto the roll paper drawn out from a cartridge, in superimposed relation. The roll paper is conveyed in a state nipped by a conveying roller pair. A thermistor detects a temperature within the apparatus. After completion of printing in one color, the roll paper is conveyed to a print start position at a first conveying speed, for execution of printing in another color. When the detected temperature is higher than a predetermined value, the roll paper is conveyed to the print start position at a second conveying speed which is slower than the first conveying speed.
