    • PURPOSE: A hand-off method of a mobile terminal having a fixed address in a mobile communication system is provided to perform a smooth hand-off in case that a terminal having a fixed address connects to a call through an IP address in a mobile communication system. CONSTITUTION: In case that a mobile communication terminal is moved from an FA(Foreign Agent)1 to other FA2, the mobile communication terminal transmits a binding warning to an HA(Home Agent)(102). The mobile communication terminal requests a position registration to the FA2 by wireless(104). In case that the FA2 receives a position registration signal, a binding update for informing the movement of a position of the mobile communication terminal to the FA1 is transmitted to the FA1(106). When the FA1 received the binding update, a binding acknowledge including information for performing a call is transmitted to the FA2(108). A registration request is transmitted to the HA(110). When the HA received the registration request, the HA transmits the binding update of the mobile communication terminal to a router(112). Thus, the FA2 and the router can transmit/receive data through an IP tunneling(114).

    • PURPOSE: A mobile Internet protocol service method is provided to offer an IMT-2000 subscriber rapid IP network connection by interlocking permanent virtual circuit(PVC) among a radio network controller(RNC) and an interworking unit(IWU) and a visitor location register(VLR) and the IWU. CONSTITUTION: A mobile Internet protocol service method is described wherein when a position update request signal is transferred to a VLR, a corresponding VLR receives the position update request signal(S1), confirms a position registration type(S2) and confirms whether or not a mobile node is connected(S3). If the mobile node is connected, a mobile node position registration request signal for requesting IP registration is transferred to an IWU(S4). The IWU receives a mobile node position registration response signal from a home agent(S5), memorizes position information of the mobile node(S6) and transmits the response signal to the VLR. The VLR receives the response signal through the IWU to change a terminal state(S7), and then transfers the position update response signal to an MSC. The MSC transfers the position update response signal to the MT through an RNC and a base station(S8).

    • PURPOSE: A method for managing a location of a mobile terminal using an integrated visitor location register(IVLR) and mobile telephone system are provided to reduce the database traffics of a home location register(HLR) and network traffics by message transmissions between a visitor location register(VLR) and the HLR by preparing the IVLR for managing mobile terminals in an integrated registration area. CONSTITUTION: A base station(BS) performs a wireless communication with a mobile terminal(MT). A mobile switching center(MSC) corresponds to a mobile telephone exchange. The VLR registers the terminal moved from a home registration area to another registration area. The IVLR serves as the HLR in the integrated registration areas(IRA10),(IRA20) comprised of several registration areas(RA11),(RA12),(RA21), (RA22). The HLR, IVLR and MSC are connected to each other via a public switched telephone network(PSTN). The BS is connected directly to the MSC, and communicates with the mobile terminals registered in its cell area. The MSC includes the IVLR and services for the mobile terminals in the registered area. A call set and location registration are performed by the HLR, VLR and IVLR close to the VLR.
