    • PURPOSE: An arithmetic coding method of a video, a device thereof, an arithmetic decoding method of the video, and a device thereof are provided to successively apply CABAC(Context Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding) and a bypass arithmetic coding method, thereby increasing processing speed of arithmetic coding and decoding and increasing compression performance. CONSTITUTION: A first coordinate prefix syntax element, a first coordinate suffix syntax element, a second coordinate prefix syntax element, and a second coordinate suffix syntax element are obtained from a bitstream which a syntax element decoding unit is received(101). The syntax element decoding unit successively performs arithmetic decoding corresponding to a first arithmetic decoding method for the first and second coordinate prefix syntax elements and performs arithmetic decoding corresponding to a second arithmetic decoding method for the first and second coordinate suffix syntax elements(102,103). The syntax element decoding unit restores a first coordinate component and a second coordinate component by inverse binarization(104). [Reference numerals] (101) Obtain a first coordinate prefix bit string which classifies a first coordinate component in the last valid conversion coefficient position of a current block based on a threshold determined by a current block size from received bit stream; a first coordinate prefix syntax element which is corresponded to each first coordinate suffix bit string; a second coordinate prefix bit string which classifies a second coordinate component in the last valid conversion coefficient position based on a first coordinate suffix syntax element and the threshold; a second coordinate prefix syntax element which is corresponded to each second coordinate suffix bit string; and a second suffix syntax element; (102) Obtain the first coordinate prefix bit string and the second coordinate prefix bit string by performing arithmetic decoding corresponding to a first arithmetic decoding method in order for the first coordinate prefix syntax element and the second coordinate prefix syntax element; (103) Obtain the first coordinate suffix bit string and the second coordinate suffix bit string by performing arithmetic decoding corresponding to a second arithmetic decoding method for the first coordinate suffix syntax element and the second coordinate suffix syntax element; (104) Restore the first coordinate component by inversely binarizing the first coordinate prefix bit string and the first coordinate suffix bit string and restore the second coordinate component by inversely binarizing the second coordinate prefix bit string and the second coordinate suffix bit string; (AA) Start; (BB) End

    • PURPOSE: An image encoding method and a device thereof, and an image decoding method and a device thereof, adaptable for buffer status are provided to store encoded data in a buffer by using information of a reconfigured macroblock based on storage status of video data and the buffer. CONSTITUTION: A buffer(120) stores a bit string of encoded data. A buffer examining unit(130) checks storage status of the buffer at a data unit less than at least one macroblock. Based on the storage status of the buffer, a macro block reconfiguring unit(140) reconfigures information about the macroblock in order that encoded data of the macroblock reduces. Using the reconfigured information of the macroblock, The encoded data is saved in the buffer.
