    • PURPOSE: A biodegradable article is provided, which improves water resistance and longtime storage therefore can be used as a packing material for putting instant foods therein. A process for producing the biodegradable article is also provided. CONSTITUTION: The biodegradable article is formed by dispersing a natural polymer in a matrix of fiber powder coated with an acrylate copolymer, wherein the natural polymer is an unsubstituted anionic starch derived from corn, potatoes, wheat, rice, tapioka, and sweet potatoes. And the process for producing the biodegradable article comprises the steps of: preparing the fine fiber powder having a fiber length of 10-90 micrometer by grinding at least one pulp fibers; mixing the fiber powder, the acrylate copolymer, the natural polymer, a solvent, and selectively a longtime preservative and stirring at 20-90deg.C to prepare an article composition; and forming the composition in a heat compressive mold at a baking temperature of 100-250deg.C under a pressure of 0.5-8kgf/cm2 for 10-300 seconds.
