    • PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for resizing an image are provided to include pixels with a relatively small energy value while keeping important information in an original image, thereby removing only an image which is relatively not important. CONSTITUTION: A change degree calculating unit(120) calculates a change degree by the first energy function for calculating a change degree of brightness of each pixel of an original image. A wavelet coefficient calculating unit(130) calculates a wavelet coefficient of each sub band of a wavelet by wavelet-converting the original image. An energy calculating unit(140) calculates energy of each pixel by the second energy function which adds the change degree to the wavelet coefficient. A seam determining unit(150) connects pixels with a small sum of energy calculated by the second energy function.
