    • The present invention relates to a device and method for unlocking a mobile terminal comprising: a touch screen for outputting a modified unlocking screen, and receiving a modified unlocking password from a user; and a control unit for determining a reference unlocking screen according to a predetermined locking method when unlocking is requested, outputting a modified unlocking screen corresponding to the reference unlocking screen, and unlocking a mobile terminal when a modified unlocking password corresponding to the modified unlocking screen is received. According to the present invention, a user can input a modified unlocking password through the modified unlocking screen whenever an unlocking password is inputted. Therefore, other people cannot recognize an unlocking password easily. Although a password is exposed, the password recognized by other people cannot be used to unlock a mobile terminal because the unlocking screen is changed into another modified unlocking screen.
