    • A driving tool has a magazine (5), a strike mechanism for ejecting a fastener, and a contact mechanism for effecting operation of a trigger. A first blank firing prevention lever (17) is horizontally swingable and is capable of coming out into a fastener feeding path (12) of the magazine. The contact mechanism has a lower arm (21) projectable from the tip of a nose section, an intermediate member (22) moving in association with the lower arm (21) and moving in association with the first blank firing prevention lever (17), and an upper arm (23) associated with the trigger. A second blank firing prevention lever (32) capable of engaging with the upper arm (23) is provided at the intermediate member (22). The intermediate member and the lower arm (21) are urged downward. When the intermediate member swings at the same time when the first blank firing lever (17) enters into the magazine and swings, the engagement between the second blank firing prevention lever (32) and the upper arm (23) is released.

    • An electric stapler, wherein a slide frame is installed on a driver unit vertically rotatable with respect to a base frame. A guide pin fitted to the slide frame is engaged with a recessed part in a cam plate part formed on the base frame. When the fixing release handle of the driver unit is operated, a lever pushes the slide frame to slide the slide frame so as to disengage the guide pin from the recessed part so that the driver unit can be rotated. When the driver unit is fixed in an upright state, the guide pin pushes a switch opening/closing lever to turn on a detection switch so that the electric stapler can be started. When the driver unit is rotated, the switch opening/closing lever pressed by the guide pin is released to turn off the detection switch so as to cut off a power supply.
