CONSTITUTION: A bit rate discrimination apparatus is composed of an optical to electric conversion part(210), a signal processing part(220), a bit rate detection part(230), a DC amplification part(240), a temperature detection part(250), a variation amplification part(260), a voltage addition part(270), and a bit rate judgement part(280). The optical to electric conversion part(210) converts an optical signal into an electrical signal(212). The signal processing part(220) standardizes and outputs the converted electrical signal(212). The bit rate detection part(230) outputs a recognition signal(232). The temperature detection part(250) detects the operation temperature of the DC amplification part(240). The variation amplification part(260) outputs a temperature compensation signal(262). The voltage addition part(270) combines the signal(242) inputted from the DC amplification part(240) and the signal(262) inputted from the variation amplification part(260). The bit rate judgement part(280) judges the transfer speed of the optical signal.

    • PURPOSE: A device for measuring a line transmission capacity in an optical subscriber network is provided to measure a BER(Bit Error Ratio) value from a power value of optical signals. Therefore, it is possible to previously prevent errors, and to secure efficiency and stabilization of a system. CONSTITUTION: An optical signal generator for monitoring(211) generates optical signals for monitoring optical line sections(11-25). A multiplexer/reverse-multiplexor(213) multiplexes the optical signals for monitoring and optical signals for communication transmitted from a central office, and transmits the multiplexed optical signals to a subscriber. The multiplexor/reverse-multiplexor(213) performs a reverse-multiplexing for the optical signals reflected from the subscriber. A reverse-multiplexor(235) separates the optical signals reflected to the subscriber each wavelength. A splitter(236) splits the optical signals transmitted from the reverse-multiplexor(235). A reflected light receiver(237) receives the split optical signals. A BER(Bit Error Ratio) measurer(239) measures a BER value from a power value of the optical signals.
