    • PURPOSE: An optical compensation film and a manufacturing method thereof, a polarizer and a liquid crystal display device are provided to reduce irregularity of contrast due to viewing angle of the display device. CONSTITUTION: An optical compensation film contains a glass transition temperature depressant and cellulose acetate in which average of degree of substitution of acetyl group is 2.0-2.5. The content of the glass transition temperature depressant of one side neighborhood of the optical compensation film is different from the content of the glass transition temperature depressant of the other side neighborhood of the optical compensation film. When a light of wavelength 550 nm is incident on the optical compensation film in parallel with a normal of the surface of the optical compensation film, the ratio between accumulated amount of transmitted scattered ray in the range of 4-10° as to the normal of the surface and accumulated amount of the transmitted scattered ray in the range of 4-60° as to the normal of the surface is equal to or greater than 97 %.
