    • PURPOSE: A purifying apparatus of exhaust gas for an internal combustion engine and a method thereof are provided to improve the output of the engine, and to reduce fuel consumption by separating pollution gas from decontaminated gas and removing with forming the laminar flow. CONSTITUTION: An exhaust gas purification device for internal combustion engines including a duct comprises a soundproof chamber(3) wherein gas expands, a first standard filter, a buffer plate, a second filter, and a centralizer-diffuser assembly. In the centralizer-diffuser assembly, the gas flow is contacted with two external cold air drafts and the part of the pollution gas is channeled into a turbulent chamber. Gas is fed into the engine as intake gas, and the remaining flow is discharged into a tube ending in an atomizer(39) and moved from the atomizer into an exhaust tube. The turbulent chamber comprises an engine port discharging into fixed buckets. Gas is expanded and channeled into the atomizer in the bucket, and the atomizer comprises a gas recovery outlet into the engine. The output of the engine is improved, and fuel consumption is reduced by separating and removing exhaust gas.

    • PURPOSE: A muffler for an internal combustion engine is provided to make excellent the attenuation of exhaust noise and to avoid the degradation of output by making smooth the flow of exhaust gas with the generation of a swirl. CONSTITUTION: Exhaust gas flowing into an inlet pipe(21) flows into a diffusion cylinder(22). Thereafter, a portion of the exhaust gas is discharged via a diffusion hole(24) and swirls around the diffusion cylinder by a guide piece. The exhaust gas is expanded after moving to the outer wall of a casing body(11), the outer part of an expansion chamber(P). The remaining exhaust gas is discharged via a slit formed between overlapped swirl pieces in a conical swirl member(25). The exhaust gas moves to the central portion of the expansion chamber to be expanded and swirls with the exhaust gas discharged via the diffusion hole by the centrifugal force. Herein, friction heat is generated while exhaust noise is attenuated.
