    • PURPOSE: A lift system for a construction site is provided to improve the reliability of a cage by accurately moving a cage to each floor through an encoder. CONSTITUTION: A lift system for a construction site includes an encoder, a communication line, a receiver(11), and a transmitter(10). The encoder is installed on one side of a pinion gear installed on a cage(1). The communication line is used for a cage call communication. Four power lines from a connection panel(21) are connected to the receiver. The electricity dropped to AC 12 volt by a transformer is transmitted to the transmitter of each floor. A lift main panel(22) is connected to the power line. The electricity dropped to a DC 12 volt by a transformer installed on a main CPU(12) is used for driving a main CPU.

    • The present invention relates to a position referencing system and method for horizontal or vertical conveyance, e.g., an elevator. The position referencing system includes a plurality of spaced apart color elements or reflectors (42) attached to a static structure (40), such as a door frame in a hoistway or guideway, a light source (12) for illuminating one of the reflectors, and a sensing device (10, 48, 48') for capturing an image of the illuminated reflector. The image captured by the sensing device is used to determine the position and/or speed of the conveyance, e.g., an elevator car.
