    • PURPOSE: A panel and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to achieve improved water resistance and prevent rise of resistance, by coating an outermost layer of a panel with a fluoro silane based compound. CONSTITUTION: A color cathode ray tube comprises a panel(1) having an inner surface on which a screen is formed; a funnel mounted at a rear surface of the panel; an electron gun inserted into a neck portion of the funnel so as to emit electron beams toward the screen; and a shadow mask having a plurality of electron beam passing holes, wherein the shadow mask is spaced apart from the inner surface of the panel. The panel has an outer surface on which a predetermined coating film(10) is formed. A coating layer(17) made of a compound containing fluoride is formed at an outermost layer of the coating film.

    • In a coating material for the inner surface of a cathode-ray tube comprising an aqueous dispersion medium containing silicates of lithium and potassium and a dispersing agent, and a graphite particles and, if necessary, particles of the other specific metal compounds suspended therein, the invention is characterized in that the molar ratio of potassium to lithium is in the range of 1 to 9, and the molar ratio of silicon dioxide to the total quantity of oxides of lithium and potassium is in the range of 2.5 to 3.5, and the obtained coating material is most suitable for suppressing the quantities of gases released from the inner coating, for making good use of gas-adsorbing ability of graphite, and for increasing the degree of vacuum in the cathode-ray tube.

    • PURPOSE: An image display apparatus and an information display apparatus are provided to prevent an unstable operation of display panel and discharge between an electric potential apply terminal and conductive members, by arranging first and second conductive members on both sides of a substrate. CONSTITUTION: An image display apparatus comprises a first substrate(1) and a second substrate(2) constituting a display panel; an electric potential apply terminal(6) penetrating through the substrates in such a manner that the electric potential apply terminal applies an electric potential to the display panel; a first conductive member(3) arranged on the surface of the substrate arranged at the inner side of the display panel such that the first conductive member covers the electric potential apply terminal; and a second conductive member(4) arranged on the surface of the substrate opposed to the inner side of the display panel such that the second conductive member covers the electric potential apply terminal. The electric potential applied to the electric potential apply terminal is higher than the electric potential applied to the first and second conductive members. The image display apparatus further includes a discharge suppressing structure interposed between the electric potential apply terminal and the second conductive member so as to suppress discharge between the electric potential apply terminal and the second conductive member.

    • PURPOSE: A display device and a method for forming a screen of a display device are provided, to improve the optical characteristic and to obtain antibacterial, aromatic and deodorizing effects. CONSTITUTION: The display device comprises a screen substrate(60); and a front plate(70) which is formed by coating an organic or inorganic material fine particle(72) mixture on the front face of the screen substrate. Preferably the organic or inorganic material fine particle comprises at least one functional material having antibacterial, aromatic and deodorizing effects. The method comprises the steps of coating the organic or inorganic material particle mixture on the front face of the screen substrate; and curing the coated layer. Preferably the fine particle is capsulated and the capsule has a spherical shape. Preferably the front plate(70) comprises further a non-glare material, and has projections for enhancing the optical characteristic.
