    • PURPOSE: A code management method on multi carrier communication is provided to optimize codes for user codes and miniaturized symbol combinations only, thereby maintaining a minimal PAR(Peak-to-Average Ratio) and reducing complexity by calculating a PAR near to the minimal PAR. CONSTITUTION: A system initializes a user counter as 1(S1), initializes a reference PAR index value as a maximum value(S2), and initializes an orthogonal code counter(S3). The system checks whether an orthogonal code is pre-assigned(S4). If not, the system assigns the orthogonal code to a user, and calculates a temporary PAR index value(S5). The system compares the temporary PAR index value with the reference PAR index value(S6). If the reference PAR index value is bigger, the system resets the temporary PAR index value to the reference PAR index value(S7), and sets the orthogonal code to a temporary assignment code of the user(S8). The orthogonal code counter is increased by 1(S9). The system confirms whether all processes are completed(S10). If so, the system sets the temporary assignment code for the user counter, and increases the user counter by 1(S11,S12), then checks whether assignment codes for all users are set(S13). The orthogonal code assignment process is terminated(S14).

    • PURPOSE: A method for setting the phase coefficient of a sub-block signal in a partial transmission column orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system is provided to reduce the complexity of the process to set the phase coefficient to reduce the ratio between the peak power to the average power by the sequential process of the phase value as well as to reduce the ratio between the peak power to the average power, effectively. CONSTITUTION: A method for setting the phase coefficient of a sub-block signal in a partial transmission column orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system includes the steps of: initializing(201,202) by setting all phase coefficients of the sub-block signals as the first phase value for the sub-block signal, calculating the peak power obtained by adding the sub-block signal set by the phase coefficient at step(201,202) and for setting(203) the calculated value as a reference peak power, setting(206) the phase values to minimize the peak power of the output signal to the phase coefficients of the each sub-block signal with applying(205) the following phase value as the phase coefficient of each sub-block signal and repeating the above 3 steps for the remained usable phase values.

    • PURPOSE: A scrambling system and method in a multi-carrier CDMA and a recording medium storing its program are provided to reduce a PARR(Peak-to-Average Power Ratio) by changing a scrambling code according to user's combination of orthogonal codes. CONSTITUTION: A symbol modulator modulates a bit sequence of the kth user into symbols(S1), and a multiplier multiplies each modulated symbols to an orthogonal code to spread it to a chip sequence(S2). An adder adds the spread chip sequences in synchronization with a symbol timing, and an interleaver performs interleaving on chip sequences of M number of symbols to be transmitted and aligns chips making the same symbols at M-chip intervals(S3). A serial/parallel converter converts the aligned chip sequences into a parallel chip signal having the number of sub-carriers(S4), and a scrambling chip vector generator and a multiplier multiply the parallel chip signal to a scrambling code and transmit it to an inverse Fourier converter(S5). The inverse Fourier converter, the parallel/serial converter and a guard time inserting unit modulate one chip of each sub-carrier to generate a multi-carrier signal, and output it(S6).
