摘要： 발명은 정제된 홍삼 총 사포닌(ginseng total saponin, GTS), 의이인(Coicis Semen, CS) 혹은 이들 약물의 복합처치 및 의이인의 주된 성분인 코이솔(coixol)의 비만억제 및 치료를 위한 약제학적 성분에 대한 것이다. 본 발명은 비만 억제효과를 규명하기 위하여 고지방 식이로 유도된 비만 쥐에서 약제를 투여하여 에너지 균형 및 섭식행동에 대한 효과를 비교해 보고자 체중변화, 식이 섭취량변화, 식이 효율, 체지방분해, 보행성 활동량(locomotor activity)등을 측정하여 본 발명의 영향을 평가하고, 나아가 약물 처치에 대한 뇌의 변화를 면역조직화학기법(immunohistochemistry)을 이용하여 시상하부에서의 대표적인 섭식을 자극물질인 NPY(neuropeptide Y)와 섭식을 감소시키는 물질인 CCK(cholecystokinin)의 활성을 살펴보았다.
연구 결과, 고지방 식이에서 유도된 비만 쥐에서 홍삼 총 사포닌과 의이인의 복합처치는 체중증가 억제, 체지방감소 및 에너지 소비에 대한 효과가 있으며, 대조군에 비하여 시상하부에서의 NPY 발현의 감소 및 CCK 발현의 증가를 보이는 섭식행동에 대한 억제효과의 신경화학적 변동을 나타냈기에 본 발명의 홍삼의 주요성분 인 총 사포닌과 의이인의 복합처치가 비만억제 및 치료제로 사용될 수 있다.
