    • PURPOSE: An optical sheet, a backlight unit for a liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method of the optical sheet are provided to raise the quality of the liquid crystal display device having a light diffusing property and front brightness. CONSTITUTION: An optical sheet(1) is used for a backlight unit and comprises a base layer(2) and an optical function layer(3) arranged in the front surface side of the base layer. The optical function layer comprises an adhesive part(4) and a plurality of fibers(5) protruded to the base layer by passing through the adhesive part. The base layer comprises a transparent synthetic resin or a member of a flat pattern formed with glass. The adhesive part is formed by an adhesive which is coated on the whole plane of a flat surface of the base layer. The plurality of fibers is formed almost uniformly on the adhesive part, and the fibers protrude from the adhesive part in parallel.

    • A base film for optical sheet, optical sheet and liquid crystal display module is provided to improve brightness by remarkably increasing efficiency for use of light, and offer base film for optical sheet which is suitable to direct type liquid crystal display module and liquid crystal display module of opposing edge light type, optical sheet, and liquid crystal display module which uses the same. The base film for optical sheet which is base film for optical sheet(1) of resin formed as a square, has optical anisotropy and a characteristic that the absolute value of the angle(alpha) of the direction of the crystal axis to narrow side direction is more than pi/8 and less than 3pi/8. As retardation value of base film, the value of more than 70nm and less than 320nm is appropriate. As matrix resin comprised by base film, polyethyleneterephthalate or polycarbonate is appropriate. Optical sheet of the present invention has the optical layer laminated on the base film for optical sheet and one side of the same. Liquid crystal module of the present invention has liquid crystal display devices, the optical sheet and direct type backlight.

    • A light diffusion sheet comprising a transparent base material sheet; a light diffusion layer laminated on a surface of the base material sheet and containing beads dispersed within a binder; and a sticking-inhibiting layer laminated on a rear face of the base material sheet, wherein the binder of the light diffusion layer contains a thermosetting resin and the sticking-inhibiting layer is a resin layer containing an ionizing radiation curable resin. In the light diffusion sheet of the invention, which employs an ionizing radiation curable resin for the binder of the sticking-inhibiting layer, the cross-linking density of the binder can be increased, whereby the wear resistance of the sticking-inhibiting layer as well as the wear resistance of the rear face of the light diffusion sheet can be increased. Further, possible occurrence of scratches in the sticking-inhibiting layer, which is attributable to the contact between the sticking-inhibiting layer and the beads of the light diffusion layer, can be effectively avoided.
