    • PURPOSE: An antenna knob for a communication device and a coating method therefor are provided to indicate a color of an antenna like a device body by forming a knob with the end of an antenna by one body and forming the surface of the knob by a coating type using paints with several colors. CONSTITUTION: An end knob(3) of an antenna(2) is formed with the antenna(2) by one body, and the end knob(3) is cleaned by 3 times. The end knob(3) is inserted into an auxiliary jig for setting a partial coating portion. The impurity of the coating portion is removed, and an antistatic work is performed for removing a static electricity. A base coating layer(5) is formed on the coating surface of the knob(3) for improving the adhesive with injection goods. The coating portion is dried in a primary dry furnace, and is dried by a ultraviolet using a ultraviolet lamp. The vacuum evaporation of a reflector aluminum film(6) is performed on the coating portion. An impurity and a static electricity of the vacuum evaporation portion are removed. Mixing colors for obtaining a color coating film, a surface gloss, and a surface hardness is mixed with paints, and the mixed paints is covered on the reflector aluminum film(6) for forming a color coating film(7). The secondary dry and the ultraviolet dry of the color coating film(7) are performed. The surface of the knob(3) of the antenna(2) is processed for completing the antenna(2).

The built-in single band antenna(206) is formed as a meander line type, or mono or di-pole type on a substrate(212) that is elongated from a terminal main PCB(210). A feeding point of the antenna pattern is allocated at the center of the elongated substrate(212). The whip antenna driver(208) drives a two driving rollers under control of the controller(200) to move the whip antenna(216) to the inside or the outside of the terminal. The RF switch(204) selectively connects the built-in antenna(206) and the whip antenna(216) under control of the controller(200).

The RF switch(106) selectively connects the built-in double band antenna(108) and the whip antenna(110) under control of the controller(100).

Therefore, the present invention enables a user to easily install the antenna of the mono pole structure in a restricted area such as the inside of the vehicle by including the elbow-shaped connector in the Wi-Fi antenna device.
