    • The camera capable of taking a picture at a shorten distance and a method of controlling the camera is disclosed. The camera comprises a controller(10), an information displaying unit(20), a motor driving unit(30), a strobe(40), a switching unit(50), a luminance measuring unit(60) and an automatic distance measuring unit(70). At the controller(10), a signal is provided to measure the distance between an object and the camera. And then, it is determined whether the taking a picture at a shorten distance is possible or not according to an AF(Auto Focusing) zone converted from the measured distance value. In case that taking a picture at a shorten distance is not possible, a camera mode is changed to a ultra shorten distance mode capable of taking a picture at the ultra shorten distance to take a picture.

    • An automatically luminescent camera is provide that reduces an interval of strobo charging time, captures momentarily an opportunity for photographing and economizes a battery of the strobo. The automatically luminescent camera includes a switching unit(30) having a power supply switch outputting an electric signal for a function selection for photographing, a release 1-step switch and a release 2-step switch; an automatic distance measuring unit(10) for measuring a distance from a subject when the release 1-step switch of the switching unit is switched on and outputting a distance measurement signal; a luminance measuring unit(20) for measuring a luminance of the subject when the release 1-step switch is switched on and outputting a luminance signal; a strobo(40) for luminescing a constant light quantity; and a controller(50) including steps of strobo charging by transmitting an oscillating signal to the strobo in a photographing state; judging whether the strobe is to be luminesced at a current state to have a suitably a exposed photograph according to the distance measurement signal and the luminance signal when the release 1-step switch is switched on; outputting a charge completion confirmation request signal to receive a corresponding charge state signal in case that the strobo needs to be luminesced and judging whether the strobe is completely charged; comparing the charge voltage of the strobo and a minimal charge voltage in case that the charging is not completed; producing a luminescing time of the strobo so that the photographing can be performed corresponding to the distance to the subject with the current charge state in case that the current charge voltage is larger than the minimal charge voltage; and outputting a photograph signal when the release 2-step switch is switched on, driving the strobo during the produced luminescing time and photographing; and a shutter for photographing according to the photograph signal outputted from the controller.
