    • PURPOSE: An optical repeater in a mobile communication network is provided to control many signals having multi paths to have at least one-chip time difference, to perform a time diversity function, so as to improve a service quality of the mobile communication network. CONSTITUTION: A mobile station-facing antenna(342) receives the first signal from a mobile station(310). The first diversity antenna(346) receives the second signal having a different transmission path from the first signal. A receiving only antenna(344) receives the third signal from the mobile station(310). The second diversity antenna(348) receives the fourth signal having a different transmission path from the third signal. The first time diversity unit controls the second signal to have a regular time different for the first signal. The second time diversity unit controls the fourth signal to have a regular time difference for the third signal. A slave unit(340) synthesizes the first synthetic signal and the second synthetic signal to generate the third synthetic signal. The first synthetic signal is made by synthesizing the first signal with the controlled second signal. The second synthetic signal is made by synthesizing the third signal with the controlled fourth signal. The slave unit(340) has reverse signal processors for converting the third synthetic signal into an optical signal to output the optical signal through an optical cable. A master unit(330) converts the third synthetic signal into an electrical signal, and separates the converted third synthetic signal into the first and the second synthetic signals, to transmit the first synthetic signal to a base station(300), then converts a frequency of the second synthetic signal to transmit the frequency-converted second synthetic signal to the base station(300).

    • PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for transmitting a message in a mobile communication system are provided to prevent a long message to be transmitted to a destination subscriber terminal from being lost due to an error generated on wireless communication. CONSTITUTION: A long message service server receives a long message from an origination subscriber terminal and stores it in a database(S410). The long message service server transmits a URL of the stored long message to a destination subscriber terminal(S415). The long message service server is connected with the destination subscriber terminal through an Internet service(S420). The long message service server transmits the received long message to the destination subscriber terminal(S425). The long message service server determines whether there is an error during transmission of the long message(S430). If transmission of the long message is failed, the long message service server attempts re-transmission of the long message(S435). The long message service server determines whether re-transmission of the long message is failed(S440). If re-transmission of the long message is failed, the long message service server transmits the long message to an e-mail address of a destination subscriber(S445). The long message service server generates a short message informing that the long message was transmitted through an e-mail and transmits it to the destination subscriber terminal(S450). The long message service server deletes the received long message(S455).
