摘要： A liquid crystal display device and a method for fabrication thereof are provided to reduce the manufacturing time and the amount of liquid crystal by forming a space pattern which is made of the same material with the column spacer. A first substrate(100) is facing the second substrate(200). A gate line and a data line defines pixel region by being crossed on the first substrate. A black matrix layer(201) is formed on the second substrate to cover domain(gate line, data line) excepting the pixel region. Color filter layers(202a,202c) are formed in order to cover the pixel region at least. An overcoat layer(203) is formed in order to planarize the black matrix and a front side including the color filter layer. A first and a second column spacers(210, 220) are formed at a specific part of the black matrix. A space pattern(230) is formed in upper part the black matrix corresponding to data line.
