    • The present invention relates to a stereoscopic image display device and a method for driving the same capable of allowing a viewer who deviates from an optimal viewing distance or a viewer who moves to watch a stable stereoscopic image. The stereoscopic image display device comprises: a display panel for emitting n view images (n is a natural number and two or more); a switchable panel which is located on the display panel; a location detection unit for tracking the location and the movement of a viewer; and a control unit for controlling the applying order of view images which are emitted by the display panel according to viewer's locations and movements. The method comprises the following steps of: detecting, by the location detection unit, the location of a viewer who deviates from an optimal viewing distance; transferring the location of the viewer to the control unit; and changing the order of view images which are applied to the display panel according to the location of the viewer.     • PURPOSE: A stereoscopic image display device and a driving method thereof are provided to output a stereoscopic image without the loss of color information and the decrease of spatial and temporal resolution by changing the position of an image outputting slit for each frame. CONSTITUTION: A display panel(100) corresponds to multiple views. A filter(500) includes a light transmitting region and a light blocking region for transmitting or blocking a stereoscopic image outputted by the multiple views, and is arranged at the front of the display panel. A filter driving part changes the positions of the light transmitting region and the light blocking region. A timing controller converts received stereoscopic images into copied stereoscopic images and outputs the copied stereoscopic images through the display panel for each frame, and controls the filter driving part in order to change the positions of the light transmitting region and the light blocking region of the filter for each frame.
