    • The present invention provides an improved wheel (60) and tire for simulating the appearance of a larger- diameter wheel mounted within a low-profile tire. The wheel (60) has an inboard side and an outboard side (64). The outboard side (64) preferably includes a wide outer flange (66) which extends around the outer circumference of the wheel. The outer flange (66) is preferably integral with the outboard side of the wheel. The outer flange (66) may also be detachable from the remainder of the wheel. The inboard side may also include a wide inboard flange (70) which is preferably detachable. The flange preferably covers a substantial portion of the wall (42) of the outer tire within which the wheel is mounted. A design, preferably comprised of, for example, a plurality of protrusions, indentations, and slits, extends across at least a portion of the outboard face of the wheel, including the outboard face of the extended outer flange (66).

    • PURPOSE: An apparatus for manufacturing tow-piece wheels is provided to change the coupling position of a disc by adjusting the height of an offset adjustment unit. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for manufacturing tow-piece wheels comprises a rim support(10), a rim lift unit(20), a reference plate(30), a disc holder(40), a disc lift unit(50) and an offset adjustment unit(60). The rim support makes contact with one edge of a rim and exposes both openings of a rim. The rim lift unit lifts the rim support. The reference plate makes contact the other edge of the rim and thus prohibits the raise of the rim so that the rim supplies an assembling position in a horizontally suspended state. The disc holder is arranged on the lower part of the rim support. The disc lift unit lifts a disc by lifting the disc holder. The offset adjustment unit is protruded from the central part of the reference plate and prohibits the raise of the disc to define the coupling position of the disc.
