    • A DMB processing apparatus and method for improving image quality are provided to improve the brightness, saturation, and quantizing error of a video signal in consideration of CPU(Central Processing Unit) performance if the DMB processing apparatus has a greater display unit than 2 inches even when a low-resolution DMB signal optimized to the 2-inch display unit is received, thereby providing DMB broadcasting of improved image quality. A DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) processing method comprises the following steps of: selecting a preselected channel out of multi-channel DMB broadcasting and outputting the TS(Transport Stream) of the selected channel to a multiplexer(S410); dividing the input TS into an audio signal and a video signal and outputting the audio signal and the video signal to a video processor and an audio processor respectively(S420); processing the divided audio signal into an audible signal and outputting the processed signal to a speaker(S430); decoding the divided video signal(S440); adjusting the brightness distribution of the decoded video signal to adjust the brightness of a DMB video signal(S450); adjusting the saturation of the video signal(S460); dispersing noise set to the adjusted video signal to output a final video signal of which the quantizing error is reduced(S470); scaling the final video signal in resolution set to a display unit and converting the YUV of the scaled video signal into RGB(Red, Green, and Blue) color coordinates(S480); and displaying the video signal of DMB broadcasting of which the image quality is improved and is scaled(S490).

The apparatus further includes a picture quality enhancement unit(305) for enhancing the picture quality of the digital video signal converted into the predetermined video data format, a modulator(307) for modulating the synchronization signal transmitted from the synchronization signal controller, the modulation signal transmitted from the modulation signal generator, and the digital video signal transmitted from the picture quality enhancement unit into digital signals corresponding to the TV signal, and a digital-to-analog converter(309) for converting the modulated signals into analog signals.

    • PURPOSE: A scan converter for a video signal is provided to process an input analog signal as the video signal with high image quality of a DVD(Digital Versatile Disk) level. CONSTITUTION: A power supply unit(600) supplies a driving power to each system. A signal converting and dividing unit(200) synthesizes an external analog video signal from a video/audio input unit(100) with a timing clock by the driving voltage obtained from the power supply unit, receives the first digital video signal, and corrects the received digital video signal. The signal converting and dividing unit divides the corrected first digital video signal into a color signal and a luminance signal, and outputs the color signal and the luminance signal. A clock generating unit(700) receives vertical and horizontal synchronous signals of the corrected first digital video signal, generates the timing clock, a system clock and an output pixel clock, and provides the timing clock to the signal converting and dividing unit. A signal reinforcing unit(300) reinforces the color signal and the luminance signal of the signal converting and dividing unit according to the timing clock of the clock generating unit. A multi-data output unit(400) corrects damaged data from the color signal and the luminance signal of the first digital video signal inputted from the signal reinforcing unit according to the output pixel clock, and outputs the first digital video signal with certain bits. The multi-data output unit outputs the first digital video signal and the second digital video signal as the first and second analog video signal with high image quality. A system control unit(500) receives the second video signal of a computer and the first digital video signal corrected in the multi-data output unit, and controls the multi-data output unit to output the first analog video signal or the second analog video signal.
