    • PURPOSE: A contactless electrostatic rotation sensor and an angle detecting circuit using the same are provided to improve angle detection linearity by designing overlapped area between exciting electrode and inductive electrode in a sine or a cosine shape. CONSTITUTION: A contactless electrostatic rotation sensor comprises an exciting plate, an inductive plate, and a guard electrode. A plurality of exciting electrodes(11) are arranged in the outer circumference of the exciting plate(1). The inductive plate(2) is arranged at constant gaps with the exciting plate and a pair of inductive electrodes are arranged in the radial direction. The guard electrode(3) is arranged at the both sides of the electrode and the lower part and the outer circumference of the inductive electrode and prevents fringe effect. A pair of inductive electrodes(21a,21b) are formed to make an overlapped area between the exciting electrode and the inductive electrode.

    • An apparatus and a method for compensating the output signal of a magnetic encoder are provided to compensate output signal including noise through a signal compensation unit applying measured value residual gradient algorithm. An apparatus for compensating the output signal of a magnetic encoder comprises an analog circuit unit(2) controlling the size of a first and a second output signal outputted from the magnetic encoder, an A/D converter(10) converting the first and second output signal into a first and a second digital value, a digital filter unit(20) filtering the first and second digital values and outputting a first and a second measurement value, a signal compensation unit(30) which produces a plurality of offset variables by applying first and second estimation values, optimizes the first and the second measurement value according to the offset variables and outputs the first and second compensation values, and a pulse generating unit(40) producing first and second square wave based on the first and the second compensation value outputted from the signal compensation unit.

    • An arrangement and method for providing compensation to a cyclical input signal is disclosed. The arrangement comprises a first detection unit (20) for detecting a first event in a cyclical output signal; a compensation signal generation unit (14) for generating a compensation signal; and a signal combination unit (8) for combining the compensation signal and the cyclical input signal to obtain the cyclical output signal. The compensation signal generation unit (14) is arranged to adjust the compensation signal at an instant which has a determined relationship with the detection of the first event. By adjusting the compensation signal at the right instant in a cycle of the cyclical output signal, the adjustment will not influence the further processing of the cyclical output signal. The method can be used to compensate the offset and sensitivity characteristics of a sensor.
