    • An emulsion ink for stencil printing comprises 20 to 50 wt.% of an oil phase and 50 to 80 wt.% of a water phase, and contains at least one kind of a vegetable oil with an iodine number ranging from 110 to 150 in the oil phase at least in an amount indicated by the following formula in wt.%, and an antioxidant in an amount ranging from 1 to 10 wt.% based on the content of the vegetable oil: Minimum amount of vegetable oil in wt.% = amount of water in ink in wt.% x (100/iodine number) x 0.09. The ink causes no clogging or offset when a printer is not in operation and the ink is left in a printing drum of the printer for a long period of time. Disclosed is also a printed matter printed by the emulsion ink of the present invention.

    • PURPOSE: A process for preparing emulsion for water-based ink is provided to alter particle size suitable for controlling physical property of ink with no further alteration of pH and aging process to lead the reduction of reaction time while not changing composition, acid value, glass transition temperature of the final polymer product. CONSTITUTION: The process comprises a step of polymerizing hydrophilic polymer and controlling pH value to an alkali range of 8-9 and another step of polymerizing hydrophobic polymer to make both of the hydrophilic and the hydrophobic polymers to exist within the final emulsion polymer adhesive simultaneously. The hydrophilic polymer is formed by reacting 100 weight parts of a monomer mixture composed of 5-16 parts of methacrylic acid, 5-16 parts of acrylic acid, 61-85 parts of ethyl acrylate, 1-3 parts of acrylonitrile and 1-3 parts of anionic emulsifier; and 0.1-4.0 weight parts of molecular weight controlling agent at 60-90 deg.C. The hydrophobic polymer is formed by reacting 70-90 weight of styrene, 6-29 weight of methyl methacrylate and 1-4 weight of non-ionic emulsifier at 60-90 deg.C.
