    • The present invention relates to a process for the production of iso-propanol by liquid phase hydrogenation of acetone to iso-propanol in at least two hydrogenation reaction stages, each reaction stage comprising a hydrogenation reaction zone, wherein the hydrogenation reaction product leaving the reaction zone of the first reaction stage contains unreacted acetone and a product stream comprising acetone and iso-propanol is transferred to the reaction zone of a subsequent reaction stage said product stream having at the inlet to the reaction zone of said subsequent reaction stage a temperature of 60 to 100°C, wherein the temperature of the product stream leaving the reaction zone of said subsequent reaction stage at the outlet from said reaction zone is at most 40°C higher than the temperature of the product stream entering said reaction zone at the inlet to said reaction zone and the temperature in said subsequent reaction zone does not exceed 125°C, to a process of purifying an iso-propanol raw product containing less than 1000 wppm acetone comprising subjecting the iso-propanol raw product to a distillation in a dividing wall distillation column to obtain purified iso-propanol and to an integrated process for the production of phenol employing the above hydrogenation process.

    • PURPOSE: A method for eliminating an organic acid and/or an inorganic acid from an organic phase is provided to eliminate an organic acid and/or an inorganic acid from the generated degradation product phase when manufacturing phenol by resolving cumin hydroperoxide. CONSTITUTION: The organic acid and/or an inorganic acid is eliminated from the organic phase by the steps of: flowing a degradation product(2) to be processed from the lower part of an extractor(E) into the extractor; flowing water(1) from the upper part of the extractor into the extractor; flowing out the extracted acid(4) from the extractor on the foot of an extract unit; passing the acid-eliminated organic phase e(3) through an anion exchanger(A1) or a cation exchanger(A2) by obtaining it from the upper part of the extractor; feeding the relevant organic phase e(5) after passing the anion exchanger; and scrapping a salt-including aqueous phase e(7) which is formed when regenerating the anion exchanger.
