    • Disclosed are a backlight device for holographic display and a method for holographic display using the same. The backlight device for holographic display includes a point light source generating unit which generates at least one point light source by using an optical fiber, a lens array which collects a light wave diffused from at least one point light source on a viewing window, and a point light source control unit which controls the location of the viewing window by controlling the location of at least one point light source. Therefore, a hologram with a natural color is efficiently reproduced by controlling the location of the viewing window in three axes based on an orthogonal coordinate system and collecting the light wave from the light source on the viewing window.

    • The present invention discloses a holographic display. The holographic display comprises: an actuator; a light source fixed to the actuator to supply a beam; a collimater for collimating the beam incident thereto from the light source; a spatial modulator for modulating the beam on the collimator; a freznel lens for collimating the beam again on the spatial modulator; and a beam splitter for splitting the beam collimated from the freznel lens. In this case, the collimater may have a wedge shape including an incident lateral side for refracting the beam incident from the light source, a first inclined surface for totally reflecting internally the beam incident from the incident lateral side, a second inclined surface provided opposite the first inclined surface to collimate the beam, which is totally reflected internally by the first inclined surface, in the spatial modulator, and a reflection lateral side provided opposite the incident lateral side to reflect the beam.
