    • A vacuum valve includes a valve housing with first and second valve openings (2, 3) which have parallel axes (4, 5) and are surrounded by valve seats (6, 7), respectively; first and second valve plates (10, 11) which move between an open position, an intermediate position and a closed position; and a support unit (9). The support unit supports the valve plates (10, 11) and has drive elements (22) which move the first and second valve plates (10, 11) between the intermediate position, in which the valve plates (10, 11) cover over the respective valve openings (2, 3), but are raised up from the valve seats (6, 7), and the closed position. The drive elements comprises a cylinder (24) having at least one cylinder space (25, 26), and at least one piston (27, 28) which is arranged in the cylinder space (25, 26) and has a piston rod (34, 35) connected to one of the valve plates (10, 11). The support unit further includes at least one of first and second support rods (19, 20) to which the cylinders (24) of the drive elements (22) are rigidly connected. Each of the cylinders bridges an intermediate space located between the first and second support rods (19, 20) at the same time. The support rods arranged on opposite sides laterally alongside the piston rods (34, 35) of the drive elements (22).
