    • A method and system for tone detection is described. The method includes receiving a series of frames having a signal containing a tone and locating a first frame in the series of frames in which there is at least a partial tone. The signal energy of the first frame in which there is at least a partial tone may then be compared to the signal energy of a full tone frame or compared to the signal energy of a frame subsequent to the first frame in the series of frames. A start time of the tone in the signal may then be determined based on the comparison of the signal energies of the first frame and the full tone frame or subsequent frame. An end time of the tone in the signal may be determined by locating a last frame in the series of frames in which there is at least a partial tone and comparing the signal energy of the last frame in which there is at least a partial tone to the signal energy of a full tone frame or the signal energy of a frame preceding the last frame in the series of frames. The duration of the tone signal may be determined based on the determined start time and end time of the tone in the signal.

    • PURPOSE: A device and a method for managing the state of a duplicated processor in standby loading to update a software in a switch system are provided to accurately recover a software version before fault is generated when the fault of a main processor is generated in a state in which inter-different software versions exist in active and standby blocks. CONSTITUTION: An OMP(Operation and Maintenance Processor)(100) stores state information of an active processor(210) and a standby block(220) of a main processor(200) in disks(110,120)(21,22). The OMP(100) receives a loading request from the active block(210)(23). The OMP(100) loads a software to the active block(201)(25). If the loading of the software is completed, the main processor(200) copies the software of the active block(210) to the standby block(220)(26-29). If the copy is completed, the main processor(200) requests an SSL(System Start-up and Loader)(130) to check the software version of the standby block(220)(30). If the software version of the standby block(220) is different from state information stored in the SSL(130)(32), the OMP(100) notifies the reoperation of the standby block(220)(34,35). The standby block(220) performs reoperation, and requests loading to the SSL(130)(37). The OMP(100) loads a software with a new version to the standby block(220)(39).

    • PURPOSE: A device for duplexing an upper board communication path of a communication system and an operating method therefor are provided to commonly use a communication path having the same system, and to transceive an activation signal between slave boards only to be communicated by using a control signal, then to selectively perform communication, thereby improving performance of a main controller. CONSTITUTION: Protocol ASICs(231,232) convert data inputted/outputted to a data bus of an upper board according to communication standards. Bus controllers(213,214) control a communication path setup of a selector(233), and enable data transmitted/received to the data bus of the upper board to be transmitted on a communication path connecting a specific either one of the protocol ASICs(231,232) with a lower board. The selector(233) sets the communication path in order to connect the transmitted/received data with at least either of the protocol ASICs(231,232). Many data input/output units process data transmission/reception for a transmission line going toward the lower board from the set communication path.

    • PURPOSE: A method for monitoring a synchronous clock in a communication system board is provided to smoothly detect the state of the synchronous clock according to the stability and accuracy of the synchronous clock by detecting the state of the synchronous clock by using two synchronous clock counters. CONSTITUTION: An input synchronous clock counter(24) and a reference synchronous clock counter(26) of a synchronous clock monitoring unit(18) count a selected synchronous clock and a reference synchronous clock which is the standard of the selected synchronous clock. The synchronous clock monitoring unit(18) compares counted values of the input synchronous clock counter(24) and the reference synchronous clock counter(26) during a predetermined time, and detects the state of the selected synchronous clock. A synchronous clock selecting unit(4) selects a normal synchronous clock between active and standby state synchronous clocks according to the detected state of the synchronous clock.
