    • PURPOSE: A power controller, a power generation system, and a method of controlling a power controller are provided to quickly correspond to a change of electric power demand, highly effectively generate electric energy required, and obtain highly economical and reliable managements. CONSTITUTION: The power controller comprising: power storage unit(1) of storing DC power outputted from DC power generation unit that generates DC power; power conversion unit(4) including a DC/DC converter(5) for converting a voltage when receiving a DC input; charge and discharge unit(12,13) of discharging electric power from the power storage unit(1) to the power conversion unit(4) and of charging DC power from the DC power generation unit in the power storage unit(1), the charge and discharge unit(12,13) being provided among the DC power generation unit, the power storage unit(1) and the power conversion unit(4); detection unit(9) of detecting electric energy of an external power load to which power from the power conversion unit(4) is supplied; and control unit(15) of controlling operation of the charge and discharge unit(12,13) on the basis of the detected electric energy. The charge and discharge unit(12,13) has a DC/DC conversion function, converts an output voltage of the DC power generation unit into a charge voltage of the power storage unit(1), and converts a discharge voltage of the power storage unit(1) into an output voltage of the DC power generation unit.
