    • A washing machine is provided to prevent the foreign material from being infiltrated into the tub by interposing a foreign material preventive unit between an inlet unit of the drum and an opening unit of the tub, thereby preventing damage of a tub and to reduce noise caused by contacting the foreign material with the tub. A washing machine comprises a drum(130), a tub(110), and a foreign material preventive unit(140). The laundry is stored in the drum through an inlet unit. The tub surrounds the drum and has an opening unit(113). The opening is corresponded to the inlet unit. The foreign material preventive unit is interposed between the inlet unit and the opening unit to prevent the foreign material from being infiltrated between the drum and the tub. The foreign material preventive unit has a guide member(141) and a gap preventive member(142). The guide member is shaped as a ring and installed at the opening of the tub. The gap preventive member is interposed between a periphery surface of the guide member and the inlet unit of the drum to seal the gap between the tub and the drum.
