    • PURPOSE: Provided are an activated carbon for adsorbing digestion gas generated by a biological treatment in a sewage treatment plant and the like and a method for storing and using the digestion gas by using the activated carbon. CONSTITUTION: The activated carbon for adsorbing the digestion gas has a specific surface area of 750-2500m¬2/g, a pore capacity of 0.4-1.5cc/g, a pore average diameter of 4-20 angstrom, and the ratio of carbon dioxide adsorbing amount/methane adsorbing amount is 1.9-2.3 at 25deg.C under the atmospheric pressure. The digestion gas(81) is stored by pressure-raising in a digestion gas storing tank(89) filled with the activated carbon and then adsorbing and is exhausted by pressure-reducing. The exhausted digestion gas is used as a fuel gas by mixing with a calorie controlling gas(93) and controlling calories.

The pH value of the anaerobic digesting solution is adjusted by passing through a pH adjusting valve, and the anaerobic digesting solution passes through a heat exchanging unit in order to raise the temperature of the anaerobic digesting solution. The anaerobic digesting solution of the raised temperature is introduced into the biological reactor.
