    • PURPOSE: A supplementary air bumper for vehicle is provided to protect a person from being dragged into the lower part of a vehicle when the vehicle crashes into the person. CONSTITUTION: A supplementary air bumper is constituted to be filled instantaneously with compressed air and be busted in a running direction, when a car is instantaneously stopped suddenly during running in a constant speed. The supplementary air bumper(3) is mounted under the lower portion of a typical bumper(2) in a car. The supplementary air bumper(3) is comprised of air tube(5) inflating upon air is injected. One end of the air tube(5) is provided with an air tank(4) storing compressed air for being injected into the air tube(5). A nozzle(6) provided in the air tank(4) is opened when a car stops suddenly. Another end of the air tube(5) is provided with a recovery device(7) for recovering the air supplied to the air tube(5). The recovery device(7) and the air tank(4) are connected each other such that the air recovered is refilled into the air tank(4). In the case that the car crashes into a person, the air bumper is busted and bumped against the lower part of a person, for example, shin of a person, so that since the person may be sprung into the air due to bumping action of the air bumper against the person, sacrifice of human life possibly occurred owing to dragging of the person into the lower part of a car may be avoided. Also, in the case that a driver have found a person lie down on the road and then the driver bring a car sudden stop, the air bumper may be busted and bumped against the person and, thus, the person may be sprung out, so that any sacrifice of human life such as death may be protected.
