    • PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for refining argon gas are provided to cost effectively refine collected argon gas based on low energy and to improve the purity of the refined argon gas. CONSTITUTION: Argon gas includes at least oxygen, hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen as impurities. The argon gas is introduced into a first reactor(1). Whether the amount of the oxygen is sufficient to a reaction with the hydrogen and the carbon monoxide is verified. If the amount of the oxygen is deficient to the reaction, oxygen is added. The carbon monoxide and the hydrogen are reacted with oxygen based on a first catalyst in order to generate carbon dioxide and water. The oxygen is remaining after the generation of the carbon dioxide and the water. Carbon monoxide is added to be sufficient to a reaction with the entire remaining amount of the oxygen. The oxygen and the carbon monoxide are reacted based on a second catalyst to generate carbon dioxide. The carbon monoxide is remaining after the generation of the carbon dioxide. At least carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, water, and nitrogen are absorbed to absorbent based on a pressure swing absorbing method. Either the first catalyst or the second catalyst is a ruthenium catalyst.
