    • The present invention relates to a method for extracting radioactive 99Mo from a low-enriched uranium target. More specifically, the method includes: a first step of heating a high-density and low-enriched uranium target including low-enriched uranium metal particles; a second step of dissolving the high-density uranium target heated in the first step in an alkaline solution; and a third step of extracting 99Mo from the solution where the uranium target is dissolved in the second step. The method for extracting radioactive 99Mo, according to the present invention, thermal-processes a high-density and low-enriched uranium target and converts the metal uranium into uranium aluminide to dissolve the uranium target in an alkaline solution so that the existing extraction process using an alkaline solution is applicable to the uranium target. Furthermore, the yield rate of 99Mo does not decline even if the low-enriched uranium target is used, and the amount of radioactive wastes can be reduced.
