    • PURPOSE: A method for obtaining a PVC(Permanent Virtual Connection) path in a network is provided to control a complex PVC connection path setup as an intention of a network operator, if a different type of network shape information passes through an abstraction process only with basic shape information, thereby applicable to different networks. CONSTITUTION: A network confirms whether information on an originating UNI(User Network Interface) port and a receiving UNI port is valid(11), and extracts communication NNI(Network Node Interface) port information from a node where the originating UNI port is included(12). The network performs an abstraction process of the originating and receiving UNI ports(13), and extracts abstract, available/optical paths of an NNI port(14). The network confirms operation states of all ports on a connection setup path(15). If even one port cannot perform connection setup(15), the network restricts an abstracted target to the NNI port(16). If all the ports can perform the setup, the network outputs substantially connectable path information(17).

A manager system receives a status control command of the sub-root of the switching system from an operator and controls a status of the ATM switching system according to a request of the operator by transmitting the status control command to an agent system. The agent system reports varied status of the ATM switching system to the manager system.

    • PURPOSE: An operator interfacing method in HANbit ACE64 exchange to provide a compatibility with a heterogeneous operating system is provided to easily connect to various types of operating system or network management system by allowing the exchange to provide an interface that has high portability and utility. CONSTITUTION: A network management system makes a CORBA(Common Object Request Broker Architecture) client(S1), and then activates a corresponding command receiving server(S2). At this time, a CORBA server performs the activated and called CORBA operation(S3). The performed result is transferred to an input command generating part(S4), and an IMD(Input Command) is created(S5). The created IMD is transferred to a corresponding block in the exchange and performed(S6-S8). The performed result is transferred from the function block to OMP(Operation and Maintenance Processor)(S9) and transmitted to an output message interpreting part(S10). The output message interpreting part interprets an OMD(Output Command) and extracts parameters to be used in assembling CORBA IDL by a message transmitting CORBA client(S11). The extracted parameters are transferred to the message transmitting CORBA client(S12). The message transmitting CORBA client assembles the corresponding IDL(S13) and calls a corresponding CORBA server in the operating system(S14).
