    • PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a controlling method thereof are provided to accurately sense a touch input by analyzing variety of information sensed by sensors. CONSTITUTION: A first sensor generates a first signal corresponding to sensed vibration and a second sensor generates a second signal corresponding to sensed sound. A touch screen generates a third signal corresponding to the variation of capacitance according to the distance from a pointer and the position of the variation. A controlling part (180) uses the first, second signal and third signals for determining the contact touch and close touch of the pointer for the touch screen. If the third signal is sensed while the first signal and the second signal are not being sensed, the controlling part determines the pointer as the close touch. The electrode wire delivers a neighboring touch signal sensed in the second electrode part to a control part.
