    • PURPOSE: Spectinomycin biosynthesis enzyme, the nucleotide sequence thereof and transformants thereof are provided. The spectinomycin biosynthesis enzyme produced from the transformant has improved spectinomycin biosynthesis activity. CONSTITUTION: A gene encoding DTDP-glucose synthase(SpcD) isolated from Streptomyces spectabilis(ATCC 27741) has the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1. A gene encoding DTDP-glucose-4,6-dihydratase(SpcE) isolated from Streptomyces spectabilis(ATCC 27741) has the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 3. A gene encoding myo-inositol monophosphatase(SpeA) isolated from Streptomyces spectabilis(ATCC 27741) has the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 5. A gene encoding myo-inositol-dehydrogenase(SpcB) isolated from Streptomyces spectabilis(ATCC 27741) has the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 3. The transformants of E. coli BL21 are produced by transforming E. coli BL21 with pETSpcD(KACC95003) containing spcD gene, pETSpcE(KACC95004) containing spcE gene, pETSpeA(KACC95001) containing speA gene, and pETSpeB(KACC95002) containing speB gene.
