CONSTITUTION: A washing machine for saving water consumption includes a pumping element for recycling the water existing in a clearance part(8) formed between an inner tub(3) and an outer tub(2) into the inner tub again for reducing the amount of washing water, wherein the pumping element includes a pump(11) provided to a drain pipe mounted at a lower end of the outer tub to be driven in case of washing and rinsing modes, and a guide channel(12) of which an end is connected to the pump and the other end is positioned on the inner tub for guiding the pumped water into the inner tub.

CONSTITUTION: A washing machine comprises: an outer tub(50) containing wash water; an inner tub(70) for performing washing, rinsing and dehydration operation; a balancer arranged at the upper end of the inner tub to reduce the vibration caused by the unbalance of laundry; a laundry basket(80) arranged to be inserted into/removed from the inner tub to draw out, at a time, laundry after the completion of washing, rinsing and dehydration operation; and a coupling unit(90) arranged in the upper and lower portions of the laundry basket and inner tub, and which allows the laundry basket to rotate, in a stable manner, along with the inner tub upon rotation of the inner tub. The coupling unit includes a protrusion(91) formed at the inner tub, and a groove(93) formed at the laundry basket to allow the protrusion to be inserted into the groove.
