The key input unit receives event search condition information. The memory stores the event search condition information. The controller judges whether the detected event corresponds to the event search condition information stored in the memory when a detection result signal indicating the generation of at least one event is received. When the event corresponds to the event search condition information, the controller extracts event generation information and predetermined video information corresponding to the event and stores the extracted information in the memory.

Then, the size of the template image or the second image is changed based on the changed power of the zoom mechanism, and template matching is performed between the template image and the second image to detect the object.

    • PURPOSE: A motion detecting camera system and a method thereof are provided to exclude a complicated circuit or an algorithm and to reduce the cost by detecting the motion of an object employing AE(Automatic Exposure) data and AF(Automatic Focus) data generated from a digital camera processor. CONSTITUTION: A motion detecting camera system comprises a CCD(Charge Coupled Device)(20), a DCP(Digital Camera Processor)(30), a camera system control unit(40), and an alarm unit(50). The CCD picks up images, converts the images into video signals, and outputs the video signals to the DCP. A video processing unit(310) of the DCP processes the video signals and transmits the signals to a control center. A window adjusting unit(320) selectively outputs the video signals. An AE data generating unit(330) generates AE data, and an AF data generating unit(340) generates AE data. The camera system control unit transmits the window adjusting data to the window adjusting unit and detects the movement of an object in an image pickup area. If a motion is detected, an alarm is generated to the control center from the alarm unit.
