    • PURPOSE: Provided is a method for preparing ceramic powder(Y2O3, Al2O3, TiO2, AlN, etc.) for plasma spraying by using non-aqueous solvent without addition of binder and dispersant. CONSTITUTION: The ceramic powder for plasma spraying is prepared by the following steps of: preparing a ceramic slurry containing 40-60wt.% of ceramic powder based on Y2O3, Al2O3, TiO2 or AlN, and 0.1-3.0wt.% of non-aqueous solvent such as ammonium salt or alcohol(ethanol and/or isopropyl alcohol), wherein the ceramic powder is dispersed by non-aqueous solvent, NH4OH, forming an electric double layer due to pH control without addition of binder or dispersant; spray-drying the slurry to get powder; thermal treating spray-dried powder(10-100micrometer) at 800-1600deg.C for 1-10hrs, wherein the thermal treating is performed in N2 or Ar atmosphere in case that the ceramic powder is aluminum nitride or nitride.

    • PURPOSE: Provided is a water-based ceramic slurry using water, and polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP) and gelatin as solvent and a binder based on water, unlike conventional nonwater-based solvent and binder, for producing ceramic tapes. CONSTITUTION: The water-based ceramic slurry comprises the components of: metal oxide powder such as Al2O3, magnesium aluminate spinel, ZrO2, Al2O3/ZrO2 composite or spinel/ZrO2 composite; 0.01-2.0wt.% of dispersant such as polymethacrylic acid, polycarboxylic acid, ammonium polyacrylate or ether; 20-90wt.% of water; 5-20wt.% of PVP and 0.1-2.0wt.% of gelatin as a binder; 3-17wt.% of plasticizer such as triethylene glycol or polyethylene glycol. The each amount is based on the metal oxide powder and 0.3-2.0wt.%(based on the total components) surfactant is optionally added. The preparation method of ceramic tapes is as follows: mixing all components except gelatin, for a ceramic slurry with a viscosity of 1000-3000cps; defoaming by heating the slurry in boiling water(50-80deg.C); adding a gelatin solution, obtained by dissolving gelatin into water(50-80deg.C), and defoaming again; and forming the slurry into a sheet.
